Glim Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 14, 2026
Glim does not collect personal data. No account, no sign-in, no analytics, no ads.
1. Stored on your device only
The following stays on your iPhone and is never sent to a server.
- Your target language and native language
- Per-word learning state (not known / learning / known) and review schedule
- The queue of words shown on your widgets
- Estimated widget exposure counts and study event history
- Display settings such as words per day, sound and haptics
You can erase all of it at any time from Settings → Erase all progress. Deleting the app removes it as well.
2. Sent to a server
Nothing. Glim does not use a server for learning. Words, meanings, examples and wrong-answer sentences all ship inside the app, and the widget never touches the network. Everything works in airplane mode.
No user identifiers, advertising identifiers, device identifiers or IP-based profiles are transmitted or stored.
3. Third-party SDKs
None. No analytics, ad networks, crash reporters or attribution SDKs are included.
4. Widgets
Lock Screen and Home Screen widgets only read a word list the app prepared on the device. iOS never tells an app whether a widget was actually seen, so the “words you brushed past today” figure is an estimate, not a measurement, and the app labels it that way.
5. Children
Glim is not directed at children, does not ask for an age, and collects no personal data.
6. Pronunciation
Pronunciation is generated on-device by the speech synthesis built into iOS. No word is sent anywhere.
7. Changes
If this policy changes, the date above is updated. Any change that introduces data collection will be announced separately with the app update.
